What is a VPN and how do I get it.
Search it. It is software to install on your computer, phone, tablet. It is cheap like 40-50 dollars per year, for up to 5 devices. Its pretty self explanatory when you search for it. Buy it, and follow the instructions. Very easy to setup just like any other software you buy and add to your computer.

Having decades of I.T. experience, I would not advise using any VPN on U.S. servers, or from a U.S. provider, nor would I advise using Protonmail.
Under the Patriot Act in the U.S., they can reroute any of your .com, .net or .org traffic, including your mail, without a warrant, and you wouldn’t even know they are doing it … they are literally vacuuming all internet traffic, whether it’s through a VPN or not. VPN’s that use shared encryption certificates are not safe, your sessions can be mirrored … your VPN provider must use unique certificates, that are only issued to you, ideally letting you generate your own. They should not keep logs of your activity, they shouldn’t even require your true identity. Don’t trust any North American providers, they will all hand your enter/exit data over, when requested, nor should you trust that they’re not keeping traffic logs. People are also oblivious to tracking, you cruise along a website, pick up some cookies/malware and they are tracking you all the way along in your VPN connection, let alone the constant monitoring by your antivirus software and let’s not forget the biggest spyware program on the planet, Windows 10, were people not suspicious when they gave it away? If it’s free, you’re the product!
Regarding Protonmail, Switzerland is no longer a safehaven for datacentres (did people not learn from PirateBay?). Have you ever looked at who founded/is behind Protonmail? Hi I would like to comment on the video. I am a computer annalist for over 30 years. I have been battling censorship well before covid hit. I have moved away from chrome many years ago and I agree changing your browser from chrome to firefox but I find firefox is now forcing updates; there are tricks to turn it off or you can move to a browser that you can actually disable updates.
I am using a browser called Mypal it uses way less resources then firefox you do get the odd crash but very liveable for me maybe one every other week ( I usually have 10+ tabs open at any given time. Epic Privacy browser is another one that is decent but uses more resources but less then firefox. There are certain things that I do not capitalize because they do not deserve it.
Your next step is to move away from your conventional email providers and get an account with Proton Mail, they are decent all you need is the free account. What is also nice is emails going from one Proton account to another Proton account is totally encrypted. If you email let’s say gmail, yahoo, … once your email leaves Proton it is no longer encrypted.
I am noticing that they are now trying to get us to verify ourselves which defeats what Proton is all about so there is a trick I will show you. When you go to sign up, open up another tab and go to this url: https://www.guerrillamail.com/ this will allow you to use their temp email as a verification. Now some of the extensions in there are also banned from Proton mail I believe as of last week pokemail.net was working. Grab as many emails as you can. I have a dozen or so. Also Proton has a vpn but not very good the free version or the paid version tried them both. I have read some info that Protonmail is ran by the cia and other places it is not, again who do you believe? I just play safe by using a different vpn location with each account.
I’ve had conversations with microsoft, google, amazon, ebay about how they are violating peoples privacy. Not a concern for them in the least and all it has got me is being very pi$$ed at them, my neighbors have heard the conversations. For example the big push to Win10. I am very big in computer security and I’ve helped hundreds regain some of their privacy back.
When I took my security course one of the things we had to do was to think like a hacker. We had to hack the different Windows operating systems and win10 was the easiest with more vulnerabilities then Win7, so even though there is no support if you can stay with win7 or move to Linux even better. unbuntu is now starting to track people so not a good choice. I would recommend Qubes OS or Tails.
So let’s talk about vpn I agree with this also but not so much with avast or kaspersky I have searched long and hard on this one. See most of the vpn companies DO NOT tell the truth. So the best way to find out which ones are the best is to spend a lot of time or ask someone that has.
Guess what you are in luck I have tried about 15 or 20 of them. Also remember that when you pay basically $10.00 a month there is only so much they will do for you. Do you think they would risk charges by the government to hide you for $10.00 a month? Almost every company says they do not log but if you read the TOS and FAQ you will see they log some info. They also like to say that the information they log will not be enough to incriminate you, but this is also coming from companies that say they only have your info in ram and it is impossible to get data from this. This again is not entirely the truth. I believe you can use dry ice to retain the data on ram for a longer period.

This site needs to be updated you will agree with me if you read the comments you will find that the vpn I recommend is not in their list but one of the comments mentions it.
Next is to test how much you can download to verify they are not throttling your bandwidth. See they have to monitor you to know if you are downloading lots right. I know most vpns throttle your bandwidth actually it is the servers they rent that throttle your bandwidth and they could also be logging what you are doing on the net.
So I did finally found a vpn that I believe seems to be true to their word about not logging. They actually own some of their servers (some of them) they offer Wireguard and also you can pay with Crypto you do not set up an account they give you an account number. Get the vpn first that way you can enable it to sign up for Proton Mail, Do not forward emails to Proton close your other accounts or only go to them when you have your vpn disabled. Do not go to Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and login with the vpn or you will then give your ip to the tech giants and all your work was in vain.
If you want to take this a step further you can download the Tor browser and do VPN over Tor which is fairly safe but not perfect. Myself I would go with one of the Linux versions above, run proxy servers Tor and vpn but that is a bit much for most.
