Liberal MPs: It’s Time to Stop Backing Mark Carney. Here’s How to Reach Yours.

Eighteen months into Mark Carney’s time as Prime Minister, the results are in, and Canadians are paying for them. Bigger deficits, a trade relationship with our largest partner in tatters, and job losses showing up in the official numbers. The good news: there is a group of people with the power to change course. They’re called Liberal MPs, and they work for you.

The record so far

Spending without restraint. Carney was sold as a steady, responsible economic manager. Instead, as the Fraser Institute points out, his fiscal plan continues the Trudeau-era approach to federal finances: continued deficits and growing debt that future taxpayers will have to cover.

Trade talks that collapsed. Canadians were told this was the man to handle Washington. Instead, talks with the Trump administration broke down, and Canadian goods face 50% tariffs. Workers and exporters are carrying the cost.

Jobs going the wrong way. The latest Statistics Canada Labour Force Survey shows the job market under strain. Behind every number is a family worried about rent, groceries and the mortgage.

Liberal MPs can change this

In our parliamentary system, a Prime Minister governs only as long as he keeps the confidence of his caucus and the House. Liberal MPs aren’t spectators. They can tell party leadership that Carney has lost their support, push for a leadership change, and refuse to rubber-stamp a failing agenda when it comes to a vote. Many of them hear from only a handful of constituents a week. A steady stream of calm, firm messages from the people who elected them really does register.

So we’re asking you to do one simple thing: contact your Liberal MP and ask them to stop backing Mark Carney.

How to make your message count

• Find your own MP first. MPs take messages from their own constituents far more seriously. Look yours up by postal code at the House of Commons members page.
• Be polite. Office staff log every call and email. Courtesy gets your message passed along. Hostility gets it ignored.
• Be specific. Name the issue that affects you: the deficit, the tariffs, your job or your industry. Then make a clear ask: “I’m asking you to stop supporting Mark Carney’s leadership and to vote against him.”
• Say you’re a constituent. Include your name and postal code.
• Call or email the office. Use the official Parliament email and office phone numbers listed below. A short phone call is often the most effective.
• No threats, no harassment, ever. Don’t show up at anyone’s home or message their family. Firm, respectful pressure works. Anything else hurts the cause and may break the law.

Sample message

Dear [MP name], I’m a constituent in [riding], postal code [code]. I’m deeply concerned about the government’s direction: continued deficits, the collapse of trade talks that left Canadian goods facing 50% tariffs, and recent job losses. I’m respectfully asking you to stop backing Mark Carney’s leadership and to support a change at the top. Please let me know where you stand. Sincerely, [your name]

Change in Ottawa doesn’t start with the Prime Minister. It starts with the MPs who keep him there, and with you picking up the phone.
